Memorial Day Events in Hawaii:
- 73rd Annual Mayor’s Memorial Day Ceremony: This significant event will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl in Honolulu, starting at 8:30 AM. The ceremony will include a color guard, wreath presentations, a firearm salute, and performances by the Sounds of Aloha Chorus (Go Visit Hawaii) (Waikīkī Beach Stays).
- Shinnyo Lantern Floating Ceremony: This moving ceremony at Ala Moana Beach Park, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, involves thousands of lanterns being floated in remembrance of those who have passed (Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawai‘i) (Department of Defense).
- Governor’s Memorial Day Ceremony: Scheduled for 1 PM at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe, this ceremony pays tribute to the valiant men and women who have served our country (Department of Defense).
